Welcome to Starr King and we are delighted that you are interested in our school!

Starr King in-person K-5 school tours prior to SFUSD’s February 3, 2023 enrollment deadline will be offered late October through December 2022. Two additional in-person K-5 school tours will be offered in April 2023 after March school assignment letters are sent out. Sign up for available K-5 tours of Starr King through the school district. Note that Starr King is listed alphabetically under “K” for “King”. Full tours will not appear on sign up form.

Starr King Elementary

Located on the southwestern slope of Potrero Hill in San Francisco, Starr King Elementary School serves students from the immediate Potrero Hill neighborhood as well as San Francisco at large. Honoring the spirit of our school’s namesake, Thomas Starr King, our diverse student body of approximately 360 students comes from all kinds of families. The staff and parents are proud that our school serves the community as a gathering place, a learning place, and a place where every child is both respected and challenged to reach his or her potential.

Our school offers 4 distinct programs to serve our students. These include a Pre-K program, a Mandarin Immersion Program, EXL Academy, and a Special Education Day Class program that specializes in educating and supporting children with autism.

SFUSD Enrollment Fair

Each Fall, there is an SFUSD Enrollment Fair where families can learn more about the district, how to enroll, and specific schools like Starr King. This year’s Enrollment Fair for PK and elementary schools will be held in-person at John O’Connell High School on October 22, 2022.
